The M versus A plot allows for rapid identification of skewed data. The M value is computed as log₂ (LEX.E/LEX.R). The formula for the A value is (log₂ (LEX.E * LEX.R))/2. Data points in a perfectly normalized set will be centered on the M = 0 axis.
